The Type 10 tank is a traditional turret tank. The car body is divided into three parts: the front cockpit, the middle fighting compartment, and the rear power compartment. The Type 10 tank has a body length of 7.5 meters, a width of 3.24 meters, and a height of 2.3 meters (to the top of the turret). The standard combat weight is 44 tons and has a crew of 3 people. The driver is located in the center of the front of the car body and can enter and exit through the hatch on the roof armor of the car body. The driver must rotate the turret to a certain angle when entering and exiting. Since the car body is stepped from front to back, the cockpit is lower than the combat level. cabin, so that the driver does not have to raise the gun to a certain angle when driving with the window open. The front of the tank adopts a typical wedge-shaped structure, and the inclination angle of the upper part is small, which can reduce the impact of mud and water on the driver when driving. There are five double-rim road wheels on each side of the car body. The distance between the road wheels is relatively large. The driving wheel is at the rear, the idler wheel is in the front, and there are multiple supporting pulleys. The shape of the turret is similar to the wedge-shaped turret of the German "Leopard" 2A6 tank. It is arranged above the middle of the vehicle body. There are two members in the turret: the commander and the gunner. The commander is on the right side of the turret, and the gunner is on the left side of the turret. Each has a turret. As for the hatch, judging from the photos of mass-produced Type 10 tanks, the commander's hatch is opened forward using a long arm (the No. 3 prototype uses the traditional method of opening backward through a hinge). The top of the turret is equipped with equipment such as a commander's peripheral sight, a gunner's sight, a 12.7mm high-level dual-purpose machine gun, a crosswind sensor, and a 360° laser warning device around the turret.
