It is a light tank developed by the Cadillac Motors Division of General Motors in the United States in the 1940s.
The M24 light tank is a traditional three-person turret tank. The interior of the vehicle is divided into a cab, a combat room and an engine room from front to back. The commander's command tower is fixed, but its roof can be rotated. There is a spare seat in the turret for the troop commander. There is an anti-aircraft machine gun at the rear of the turret roof, an artillery piece in the center of the turret, and a parallel machine gun on the right side of the artillery piece.
The development of the M24 light tank began in March 1943, and the first prototype was produced in October of that year. After trial production of 24 units in April 1944, the tank was officially named the M24 light tank. By June 1945, a total of 4,070 M24 light tanks had been produced.
